The Lions raise funds and give freely of their time to help the less fortunate. The Hershey Lions contribute to these vision/sight related projects
- Eye Exams and Glasses for needy Derry Township residents purchased through the Central PA Eye Institute in Hershey, PA
- PA Lions Vision Research Center at the Hershey Medical Center
- Local Diabetes Education Programs
- Vision Resources of Central PA (formerly Tri County Association for the Blind)
- Beacon Lodge Camp for the Blind – Mount Union, PA
- Leader Dog School for the Blind – Rochester, MI
- Collect eye glasses and hearing aids for reuse overseas
- Penn State Eye School
Support Local Organizations
In addition to sight related projects, the Hershey Lions routinely support many local organizations and other local requests. These regularly include:
- High School Student Scholarships
- Plastic Film Recycling
- Hershey Social Ministry
- Hershey High Parents Club
- Team Sponsors for Girls Softball, and Boys Baseball and Hockey
- Lions Local District Disaster Fund
- Hershey Food Bank
- Grace United Methodist Church Back to School Project
- Recognition of Police Officer, Fire Fighter, and Educator of the Year
- Hershey History Center volunteer projects
