The Hershey Lions have begun collecting plastic bags and other plastic film products (not plastic bottles or other harder plastics). Not only are we working to limit the amount of plastic in landfills, but the plastic will be recycled into park benches to be placed around Derry Township. We are excited to partner with residents in this effort.

To start, we have a receptacle placed at the Hershey Public Library where anyone can drop recyclable products. We will be adding another receptacle in the township soon. We will collect the plastic to be delivered to Trex and after we’ve collected 500 pounds, we will receive one bench to placed where needed (one every 6 months).
